White, porous, massive, granular or honeycomb solid; tasted slightly bitter, odorless; the relative density is 2.15 (25°C). The melting point is 782°C. The boiling point is above 1600 °C. Highly hygroscopic, prone to deliquescence when exposed to air. Soluble in water, while releasing a lot of heat; its aqueous solution is slightly acidic.

Product uses

Used as multi-purpose desiccant, such as drying for nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide and other gases. Used as dehydrating agent for the production of alcohol, ester, ether and acrylic resin. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for refrigeration and ice making, which can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar, which is an excellent building antifreeze. Used as anti-fog agent for port, road dust collector and fabric fire agent. Used as protective agent and refining agent for metallurgy of magnesium and aluminum. It is a precipitant for the production of lake pigments. Used for deinking in waste paper processing. It is a raw material for the production of calcium salt.
